Job Titles

We are proud of our team and their achievements, we have included a glossary of job titles and post nominals for your reference.

MRCVS: Member of the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons (Veterinary surgeons have to be an MRCVS to work in the UK as a vet)

BVetMed: Bachelor of Veterinary Medicine

GPCertEx: veterinary surgeon with a general practitioner certificate in exotic species

CertAVP: Certificate in Advanced Veterinary Practice

PGCertVPS: Postgraduate Certificate in Veterinary Professional Studies

RVN: Registered Veterinary Nurse (RVNs are registered with the RCVS)

SVN: Student Veterinary Nurse (SVNs are registered with the RCVS and learn under the supervision of vets and RVNs)

VCA/ANA: Veterinary Care Assistants and Animal Nursing Assistants (both are a recognised qualification for nursing support staff)

Cert (AnBeh): Certificate in animal behaviour

BSc: Bachelors degree

BScHons: Bachelors degree with honours

CertVNECC: RVN with a certificate in emergency and critical care

ISFM CertFN: Certificate in Feline Nursing

Veterinary Surgeons

Mike MVB MRCVS (Practice Owner and Principal)

Mike opened the Harold Hill practice in 1986 and the Elm Park practice followed a few years later! Mike is still the practice principle of Hill Park and still sees clients and their pets regularly (although he is no longer on the full-time vet rota!). He enjoys seeing all the patients but has a soft spot for black labradors, and his own three legged Labrador, Maeve, sometimes helps out at reception.

Winni MRCVS, Dr Med Vet, GPCertEx

Winni has been with us at the Harold Hill Branch for over ten years! She qualified as a veterinary surgeon over 18 years ago and is a certificate holder in exotic species, so particularly enjoys seeing our more unusual patients from chameleons to chickens! Winni is also very fond of cats, having two of her own to care for outside of work.

Charlotte BVetMed MRCVS

Charlotte qualified from the Royal Veterinary College in 2021 and has been working at Hill Park ever since! You will usually find Charlotte at our Elm Park branch. Charlotte has a keen interest in emergency medicine and surgery but also enjoys all aspect of general practice healthcare as well. She has a soft spot for terriers, having one of her own who keeps her on her toes!

Kay BVetMed MRCVS

Kay qualified from the Royal Veterinary College in 2021 and joined us as a new graduate. Kay can be found at both of our practices, although the Harold Hill branch is her main branch. She has a special interest in ophthalmology but enjoys all aspects of first opinion practice. Kay can often be found in the kennel area giving the patients some extra TLC. She is especially bonded to Daphne, our resident cat.

Mariana MVDr MRCVS

Mariana is one of our longterm locum vets. She Qualified in 2007 and can be found at both our Harold Hill and Elm Park branches. Mariana enjoys all aspect of general practice and loves the team she works with. She has a soft spot for Maine Coon cats and also for Greyhounds.

Veterinary Nurses

Sharon RVN, Cert (anBeh): Practice manager

Sharon has been working for Hill Park for many years, she was head nurse of the Elm Park branch, before becoming practice manager about 15 years ago! She is usually based at our Harold Hill branch but also works clinically in her RVN role at times at both branches. Sharon has a special interest in behaviour and enjoys helping owners with strategies for improving their pet’s behaviour inline with current advice.

Lorraine RVN: Head Nurse - Harold Hill branch

Lorraine has been head nurse at our Harold Hill branch for many years. She has been an RVN for over 40 years and brings a lot of experience and knowledge to the nursing team. Lorraine enjoys caring for our patients, and is particularly fond of terriers.

Luke RVN, BSC Hons, Animal Physiotherapist: Head nurse - Elm Park branch

Luke originally joined Hill Park in 2008 as work experience and stayed on to do his veterinary nurse training qualifying in 2014. He then went on to work in an oncology referral centre for a year before returning to general practice. In 2020 Luke trained as a human nurse, qualifying and working for the NHS but he missed veterinary nursing so came full circle and returned to Hill Park as head nurse in January 2024.

Luke is also a qualified animal physiotherapist and is interested in animal rehabilitation.

Leigh RVN, ISFM certFN, CertNCS (RVN Cons): Deputy Head Nurse - Elm Park Branch

Leigh joined Hill Park in 2013 and completed her veterinary nurse training with us. She is also a certificate holder in feline nursing and in nurse consultations. Outside of work Leigh loves hiking and adventure with her boyfriend and dogs. She always dreamt of working with animals and loves using the diverse skills of veterinary nursing.

Danielle RVN

Danielle started at Hill Park as work experience in 2017, and became a registered veterinary nurse in 2021 after completing her training with us. She loves working in theatre and performing surgical procedures under schedule 3. Danielle also loves caring for patients who present as an emergency and require intensive nursing care. Danielle has a retired racing greyhound and two rescue sphynx cats at home.

Jenny RVN, CertVNECC

Jenny has been a qualified RVN for over 10 years and first worked for Hill Park in 2002. She is the lead nurse for implementing the practice standards scheme and for overseeing clinical governance. Jenny’s main interests at work are nursing cats and she has a soft spot for rabbits.

Tayla RVN

Tayla has worked for us as a locum nurse and recently became a permanent member of our Elm Park team. She has been a registered veterinary nurse since 2021.

Student Veterinary Nurses

Sophie SVN

Sophie started at Hill park as work experience in 2018, she has since become a qualified VCA and is now nearing the end of her Veterinary Nurse training. She is set to become a qualified RVN in the next few months. Sophie loves caring for the patients, and has a one year old cat she rescued as a kitten with whom she shares a special bond. Outside of work Sophie has a SEQ level 2 in teaching swimming.

Emma SVN

Emma is based at our Harold Hill branch. She is currently completing her veterinary nurse training and is on track to qualify in 2025. Emma is passionate about exotic pets, from birds to reptiles and invertebrates having had many of her own. She provides a lot of support to clients who own these pets in relation to husbandry and care and how to provide them with a good quality of life ensuring their needs are met. She also loves caring for our more commonly seen pets such as dogs and cats and has a soft spot for guinea pigs.

Harriet SVN

Harriet joined our Elm Park branch in 2022. She is currently completing her degree in Veterinary Nursing with Middlesex University and is on track to be an RVN by the summer. Harriet has recently adopted an 8 year old staffy cross from local rescue, and in her spare time enjoys running and personal fitness.

Freya SVN

Freya is based at our Harold Hill Branch. She is also enrolled on the veterinary nursing course and is completing her qualification with us. Freya has a special interest in wild animals, and has been lucky enough to work with wildlife in South Africa including rhinos! She is also passionate about British wildlife and canine behaviour, having done a lot of work with her own dog who she took on with behavioural problems. Freya enjoys spending time caring for patients and is also interested in improvement of clinical standards assisting with clinical governance for the practice.

Eva SVN

Eva joined us in 2021 and is based at our Elm Park branch. She is a qualified VCA and is now an enrolled student nurse and started her diploma in 2024. Eva has a special interest in caring for exotic pets.

Amy SVN

Amy started working for us in 2018, she gained her VCA qualification and is now enrolled as a student veterinary nurse. Amy has a passion for emergency care, and loves caring for patients that present to us as an emergency or need intensive care. She also enjoys helping clients and has a particular soft spot for large breed dogs.

Olivia SVN

Olivia joined our Harold Hill team in 2024 and enrolled on the veterinary nurse course at the start of 2025.

Nursing support team

Kim

Kim is a long-standing member of the Hill Park Team. After leading the team at the Elm Park branch for many years she is now based at the Harold Hill branch.

Dee ANA, Pet bereavement

Dee started working for Hill Park in 2002, qualifying at Writtle University College as an ANA in 2009. Dee has a special interest in bereavement and provides advice and comfort to clients preparing for and experiencing the loss of their pets. She enjoys helping clients and is a well known and friendly face to patients and clients at our Harold Hill branch, having known many clients for years. Dee enjoys working for Hill Park as in her own words she feels we are like a family. Dee is also the pet insurance co-ordinator at Harold Hill.

Tracey ANA

Tracey has worked for Hill Park for 20 years! She loves the variety that working in GP practice brings and will be a familiar face to many clients at the Harold Hill practice. Tracey is kept busy at home with a one eyed pug and a tortoise called Shelby.

Sarah VCA

Sarah came to Hill Park in 2015 and is now based at our Harold Hill branch. She has many prior years of experience in veterinary practice and loves taking care of patients coming in for procedures and surgeries. Sarah has her own cheeky chihuahua who can sometimes be spotted helping out at reception.

Sarah VCA, ISFM certFN

Sarah has been working for Hill Park since 1988! She is currently based at our Elm Park surgery and is a qualified VCA. Sarah particularly enjoys nursing our feline patients and is interested in cat behaviour.. Sarah also enjoys supporting clients, from meeting and greeting clients to being a shoulder to cry on.

Reception and Admin Team

Rory: Assistant Manager

Rory started working for Hill Park in 2022. He enjoys the different roles involved in being assistant manager and dealing with maintenance issues as it keeps things interesting. Rory is particularly fond of dogs and also enjoys meeting the more unusual patients we see such as reptiles and birds.

Bev

Bev first worked for Hill Park in 1995! She was based at the Elm Park branch and was part of the nursing team for many years. She is now part of the reception team at Harold Hill, although she still likes to enjoy time with the patients as well as helping clients. Bev enjoys the camaraderie of being part of the team and brings a lot of knowledge and experience to her role.

Sandra

Sandra joined us at our Elm Park clinic early in 2024 after years of working in the Veterinary profession. She is part of our reception and admin team. Sandra has two cats, Ollie and Alfie and enjoys spending time with her grandchildren outside of work.

Roz

Roz joined our admin team in 2023. She loves meeting patients and also enjoys spending time with and helping to care for the resident dogs!

and lastly..

Daphne

Daphne is the resident cat at the Harold Hill branch. She came to us around springtime 2023 as a stray and required a lot of care relating to a skin condition. Due to the delay in being able to find a new home for Daphne while she recuperated she decided to stay with us instead! She can often be found at reception and likes to meet and greet clients (when she is working). In her free time, she enjoys napping and raiding our supply of dreamies.
